About 90 competitors formed 21 teams during the three-day match and fired various rifle and pistol courses of fire. Services for Brig. Gen. John "Pogo" Pogorek will be Friday, July 19, at Pease Air National Guard Base in Newington. Public viewing and funeral service at 10 and 11 a.m. respectively. A private burial will follow with family only.

The New Hampshire National Guard and the State of New Hampshire suffered a tragic loss of one of its finest airmen and leaders. Brig. Gen. John “Pogo” Pogorek, commander of the New Hampshire Air National Guard, died July 8 near his home in Rochester. Gen. Pogorek was the victim of a hit and run accident. He was 57.
