MARCH AIR RESERVE BASE, Calif. - U.S. Air Force Staff Sgt. Tarama Fuatagavi, 154th Civil Engineer Squadron, Hawaii Air National Guard, gives hand and arm signals to direct a skid steer outfitted with a concrete saw during a weeklong Rapid Damage Repair course, March Air Reserve Base, California, May 20, 2026. Airmen learn to execute full-scale crater repair procedures, beginning with debris removal and upheaval marking before progressing through excavation, backfilling, compaction and surface restoration. The Regional Training Site instructors measured both completion time and structural performance, conducting repair quality criteria testing to validate durability under projected aircraft loads.
