GRAYLING, Mich. - U.S. Army Soldiers assigned to A Battery, 1st Battalion, 201st Field Artillery Regiment, West Virginia Army National Guard, set up an OE-254/GRC ground antenna system in preparation for a fire mission during Exercise Northern Strike 26-2 in Michigan, Aug. 5, 2026. Establishing reliable tactical communications enables the artillery battery to receive and transmit critical information required to coordinate and execute fire missions in support of training operations. Northern Strike is an Army sponsored, multi-component, multinational exercise designed to build readiness and enhance interoperability to fight and win. Northern Strike 26-2, Michigan’s largest and longest joint readiness exercise, is held Aug. 1-15, 2026, at the National All-Domain Warfighting Center. This year’s exercise will feature around 9,000 participants. Photo by Sgt. 1st Class Aaron Shuemake.
