Course Title: Jungle Operations Training Course

 Length: 12 Days

 Location: Schoefield Barracks, HI

 Description: focuses on jungle mobility training, waterborne operations, combat tracking, jungle tactics, survival training, and situational awareness exercises at the Squad level. Graduates of JOTC learn tactics, techniques, and procedures required to fight, win, and survive within any jungle environment. The course consists of two weeks of training following the "crawl, walk, run" training progression methodology. Week One builds the individual Student's basic skills required to shoot, move, and communicate within the tropical environment. Subjects covered include: mobility, waterborne movement, combat tracking, jungle medicine, early warning devices, and camouflage techniques. Students will then demonstrate their understanding through practical exercises. Week Two of JOTC focuses on planning, preparation, and execution of Jungle operations, as well as broadening the Students' knowledge in employment of the Squad within the tropical environment through a culminating situational training exercise (CULEX). Week Two concludes with the "Green Mile" physical endurance course, followed by recovery and graduation. Students will be evaluated on critical skills upon arrival at, and throughout, week one of JOTC. Each Student must pass the Combat Water Survival Assessment (CWSA), the Jungle 5k Run within 40 minutes, and the Land Navigation Assessment to remain in the course.

 Pre-Requisites: No MOS restrictions. Unit must certify ability to correctly tie six knots (testable on Day 1) and complete packing list. Individuals reporting must be in excellent physical condition.
