NH guardsmen band together at call centers

CONCORD, N.H. — New Hampshire guardsmen continue answering the call to support COVID-19 operations at employment security call centers in the capital region. The mission has expanded from a lone center staffed by 19 airmen, to four call centers comprising 240 total guardsmen.

CONCORD, N.H. — Our lines of effort continue to increase as we begin week six of what has been the longest continuous mobilization of New Hampshire National Guard resources for a domestic response in the past half century. Not since an 18-month stretch from 2006 to 2007, when three separate 100-year storms devastated the Granite State with severe flooding, has the National Guard been used with such frequency.

CONCORD, N.H. — One of the latest COVID-19 support requests for the New Hampshire National Guard features 90 soldiers and airmen training with civilian law enforcement, per direction of Gov. Chris Sununu. Videoconferencing was employed to best facilitate social distancing.

COVID-19 Update #5

CONCORD, NH — To date, nearly 190 NH guardsmen and women are supporting eight different missions across the state. They include the NH Food Bank, the Employment Security Call Center, warehouse and distribution operations of all PPE statewide, hospital surge planning, cyber security of the state’s information systems, state emergency operation center support and other Department of Health and Human Services initiatives. Moreover, we have personnel working behind the scenes from our armories, air base, training sites and homes to ensure a constant state of readiness.

Pease Airmen answering the call

CONCORD, N.H. — A small, centralized COVID-19 mission is making a big difference: a call center, supported by 19 Pease Airmen from the 157th Air Refueling Wing, that's tucked away in the basement cafeteria of the New Hampshire State Fire Academy. The makeshift center, supervised by New Hampshire Employment Security, has been fielding thousands of claims per day made by people in desperate need of unemployment benefits.

COVID-19 Update #4

CONCORD, N.H. — For the first time since 9/11, the number of New Hampshire guardsmen and women on state active duty has surpassed the total currently deployed overseas. As of today, 134 soldiers and airmen are supporting seven different missions in concert with the state’s campaign against COVID-19.

Making a Pledge

CONCORD, N.H. — A small ceremony marking the start of Sexual Assault Awareness and Prevention Month was held at the New Hampshire National Guard State Military Reservation in Concord, April 1, 2020. Senior leaders lined up to adorn a pledge board with signatures to demonstrate support for survivors and to promote prevention and awareness.

Over the weekend, President Trump approved Title 32 status (100 percent federal reimbursement) for Washington, California and New York states. Here in New Hampshire, we continue to take steps to mitigate risks to our force and families while posturing for state active duty missions. Our enduring priorities remain: 1) Protect the Force and Our Families,2) Ensure That We Are Mission Ready, and 3) Support the Partners in the COVID-19 Response.
