Promising Start For New Search, Rescue Team
PEMBROKE, N.H. — To the astonishment of State Command Sgt. Maj. William Ferland, more than half of the 70 New Hampshire guardsmen who said they were interested in forming a volunteer search and rescue team reported to the first training session May 7 at the Edward Cross Training Center in Pembroke. “It’s a promising start,” said Ferland, who drafted the invite for the all-NHNG force after learning of a long-running gap in coverage of the state's southern tier. “I thought this would be a natural fit for us.”

They are selected by the installation's sexual assault response coordinator (SARC) to provide essential support, liaison services and care to victims.

NHNG Competes At National Shooting Match
CAMP ROBINSON, Ark. — Two squads of New Hampshire National Guard marksmen finished in the top 20 at the 51st Winston P. Wilson Pistol and Rifle Championships held from March 26 - 31, 2022, at Camp Robinson, Arkansas. About 190 competitors from around the world formed 47 teams and competed in various pistol, rifle and shotgun events.

Camp Robinson, Ark. — Two squads of NHNG marksmen finished in the top 20 at the 51st Winston P. Wilson Pistol and Rifle Championships from March 26 - 31 at Camp Robinson, Ark. After blazing through thousands of rounds of ammo, Team Alpha placed ninth out of 47 teams, New Hampshire's best finish since 2015. Team Bravo finished 20th.

Called Upon Again
CONCORD, N.H. — A deployment ceremony for Headquarters and Headquarters Battery, 197th Field Artillery Brigade and the 1986th Contingency Contracting Team was held at Concord High School on April 2. As the 39th Army Band played a welcoming tune, family and friends filled the gymnasium to participate in the time-honored tradition of a supportive sendoff for the more than 130 New Hampshire Army National Guard soldiers.

CONCORD, N.H. — A deployment ceremony for 197th Field Artillery Brigade and the 1986th Contingency Contracting Team will be held Saturday, April 2, at the Concord High School gymnasium. The ceremony begins at 10 a.m.
